Seine Mutter ist fortgegangen und Gonzalo weiß nicht warum. Jetzt kümmert er sich ganz allein um seine kleine Schwester, die noch ein Baby ist. Dabei ist er erst zehn Jahre alt. Nach- barn helfen und machen sich Gedanken, was mit den Kindern geschehen soll. So der alte Felipe mit der Kneipe oder der Tierarzt Julio mit seiner Frau. Oder die nette, in der Stadt ge- strandete Lorena. Und allmählich erfährt auch Gonzalo die ganze Wahrheit.
